S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazilian authors Veronika Topic Eleut\u00e9rio (pictured above, left<\/em>) and Wiana Kell (right<\/em>) will launch children\u2019s books<\/strong> in the United Arab Emirates by Sharja<\/strong>\u2019s publishing house Nour Publishing. Both authors live in Dubai and signed a contract with the Emirati brand through a contacty that Eleut\u00e9rio got in a book fair.<\/p>\n

The books The Houbara\u2019s Nest<\/em> and Sarah\u2019s Dolphin<\/em> will be launched in the Sharjah Children\u2019s Reading Festival, to take place from May 11 to 22, and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, from May 23 to 29.<\/p>\n

The book by Eleut\u00e9rio is about a bird in the UAE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This will be the first time the authors are published in Arabic. Kell has two books out in Portuguese, while Eleut\u00e9rio has launched a bilingual edition in English and Brazilian Portuguese. The new books have no Brazilian release date yet. \u201cOur focus is now English and Arabic, but I believe they could get a Brazilian Portuguese edition or maybe even a bilingual edition in Portuguese and English or Arabic,\u201d Kell said.<\/p>\n

The other books focus on a Brazilian native animal<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The two stories share the focus on endangered animals. \u201cThe love children feel for animals inspired me to write the story. I brought the pink dolphin to be the favorite animal of the main character as it is a very special Brazilian creature that is still poorly known overseas,\u201d Kell said about her book.<\/p>\n

As for The Houbara\u2019s Nest<\/em>, the story talks about how children find an animal in the Gulf region that is also endangered. \u201cMy focus as a children\u2019s author is always addressing facts that warn kids about endangered animal and plant species. Cissa<\/em> is about an endangered Brazilian oak, while houbara is the bird that is the focus of conservation programs here,\u201d Eleut\u00e9rio finished.<\/p>\n
