S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Egyptian foods in different forms are being offered at APAS Show, Latin America\u2019s largest supermarket trade show. The options include goods from companies that already have exported to Brazil like Egct Frozen. The brand produces and sells frozen food<\/strong>. According to Ayman Mohamed Eldosouky, vice president of Egct Frozen<\/a>, the company has products across all continents and plans on expanding its operations in Brazil. \u201cWe produce and have a plant in Alexandria. We are here especially for getting new contacts, meeting the clients we already have and trying to boost our sales to Brazil,\u201d Eldosouky said.<\/p>\n

The focus for exports to Brazil, the vice president said, are frozen fruits<\/strong> like strawberry and mango. The company also sells different frozen vegetables<\/strong>, including broccoli, spinach, corn and carrots. There are also typical foods from Egypt like mulukhiyah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With a similar plan, Fresh Gate<\/a> has sold olives in Brazilian soil but wants more. \u201cWe\u2019ve sold olives<\/strong> to Brazil for five years. Now we want to increase the volume sold and widen our portfolio,\u201d Mohamed Shahat, general manager of Fresh Gate, said.<\/p>\n

Mashreq came to APAS for the first time<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Among the products the company wants to create room in Brazil for are peppers and artichokes<\/strong>. The latter can be exported either fresh or frozen.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Mashreq for Business Development<\/a> wants to break into the market with industrialized and novel products. The brand bets on products like spices<\/strong>, salad dressings, as well as the most recent Chunky\u2019s Crispy Chicken, a crumbing batter mix for chicken. \u201cWe\u2019re trying to export these to Brazil, and we have different formats, for both the end consumer and in bulk for distributors,\u201d Abdelrahman El Moghazy, Exports director of Mashreq, pointed out.<\/p>\n

The company also has a tea <\/strong>and herbs line sold in two sizes. Mashreq has plants in Cairo and Alexandria and exports to countries like Oman, Bahrain and Spain.<\/p>\n
