Last week, the government announced that arrivals can enter by showing proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test. Prior to that, they had to present both.

The measures were published on the website of the Ministry of Health of Morocco on May 18. As of right now, travelers can visit Morocco with either a negative PCR test result less than 72 hours old or a valid vaccine passport that is defined as having received at least three doses of an accepted vaccine or two doses with a delay in the administration of the second dose not exceeding four months

Travelers also have to complete an online form, which must be printed and signed. Children under the age of 12 are exempt from all requirements, the Ministry said.

Morocco is a tourist destination, and the entry of foreigners represents a major source of revenue. The industry was severely impacted by the pandemic but has recovered since. The Moroccan government has taken steps, including financial support, to help the industry, and tourist revenues went up 80% in the first quarter this year compared to the same period last year.

The latest news published on the state news agency Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) reported 170 new COVID cases on Wednesday (25) in Morocco.
