Khalawi pointed out the beauty and cosmetics sector as a promising area for Brazilians to focus. For him, the country can benefit from the sound image it already has in the Arab countries and increase its share with halal and value-added products.

Khalawi also mentioned tourism as a favorable sector. The executive believes in addition to halal, Brazil could also invest in boosting ‘family-friendly’ tourism. Especially now, after two years of the pandemic, the secretary-general sees a greater demand from Gulf families for suitable tourism destinations. In this sense, Mansour signaled the ABCC’s focus on sector events and providing training in Brazil.

Translated by Elúsio Brasileiro

Thais Sousa/ANBA

Thais Sousa/ANBA

For the secretary-general of the Islamic Chamber, Brazil could grow its halal market in sectors such as tourism and cosmetics.
