Shortly thereafter, the group rented an office in a building on Rua do Com\u00e9rcio, which served as the club\u2019s headquarters until 1920.<\/p>\n<p>According to information released by Esporte Clube S\u00edrio, the main goal was to <strong>practice sports<\/strong> in the early years. Before reaching one year, there were already 150 members. At the beginning of 1920, the head office was transferred to a complex on Rua Flor\u00eancio de Abreu. At the same time, Parque S\u00e3o Jorge was rented as a sports venue. In the early 1920s, S\u00edrio acquired an area in the Ponte Pequena region, where it transferred <strong>its social and sports headquarters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_315247\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-315247\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-315247 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/clube-sirio-interna-300x154.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"154\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/clube-sirio-interna-300x154.jpg 300w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/clube-sirio-interna-768x393.jpg 768w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/clube-sirio-interna.jpg 1016w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-315247\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>The club offers sports, culture, and leisure<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With the growth of S\u00e3o Paulo, many families and other clubs moved to the city\u2019s south side. S\u00edrio then sold the Ponte Pequena headquarters in 1949 and, with the support of a group of partners, acquired several plots of land on Avenida Indian\u00f3polis to house the new Esporte Clube S\u00edrio, where it is currently located, with enough space to meet the growing number of members.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after came many other achievements, such as the triumphs of basketball teams, culminating with the conquest of the <strong>Interclub World Championship<\/strong> in 1979, the opening of the new headquarters building in 2000, the centenary celebration in 2017, with the release of a commemorative stamp and postmark by the Brazilian postal service (Correios), festivity and inauguration of the <strong>Centennial Landmark<\/strong>: A rock weighing more over eight tonnes from the region of Palmyra, Syria.
