S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will take Brazilian startups<\/strong> to Qatar<\/strong> and the United Arab Emirates<\/strong> in October to learn about innovation ecosystems and prospect potential investments, according to information released by the institution\u2019s press office. Details of the mission will be presented in a webinar next Wednesday (3) at 10:00 am BRT. Registration for the online event is free and can be made through this link<\/a> by any startups or technology-based companies interested in the mission.<\/p>\n

Mizuta: Opportunities for startups<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The trip will include visits to technology parks, incubators, and accelerators in the two Arab countries from October 2 to 7. The schedule will also include lectures on the business environment, legislation, entrepreneurship, and opportunities in the Arab countries to familiarize companies with the general aspects of these markets.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will also be two Demo Days, one in each country, events in which startups will be able to show their portfolio, network, and receive feedback from mentors, experts, and investors about the adherence of their solutions in the Arab countries, for modifications or possible partnerships and investments in the future,\u201d explained Karen Mizuta, ABCC\u2019s head of international consultancy and the entity\u2019s innovation hub, ABCC Lab.<\/p>\n

Although there are no restrictions on the number and type of startups, the participation of companies with a minimum viable product (MVP) ready for implementation or with scalable solutions (scale-up) will be prioritized. Technology-based companies are also eligible to participate. However, companies\u2019 scope of work needs to have synergy with the Arab ecosystems to be visited, such as agtech and fintech.<\/p>\n

The mission will combine the ABCC\u2019s innovation hub initiatives, developed to connect Brazilian and Arab startups, prospecting opportunities similar to those already materialized in segments such as commodities, food, and cosmetics.<\/p>\n

Last year, representatives of the entity visited innovation ecosystems in Brazil and the Arab countries to present the ABCC Lab and discuss joint initiatives. So far, the effort has resulted in a partnership between the ABCC Lab and Itaipu Technological Park, in addition to the mission in September, the first of the entity to be focused on startups.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the future, we would like to contemplate new segments and countries and expand the initiative to North Africa,\u201d anticipated Mizuta.<\/p>\n

The mission will be organized by the ABCC and ABCC Lab with support from the entity\u2019s technology platform, Ellos, Itaipu Technological Park (ITP), and innovation hub Espa\u00e7o Impulso.<\/p>\n
