{"id":316528,"date":"2022-08-12T15:20:16","date_gmt":"2022-08-12T18:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/oma-moderniza-porto-de-duqm\/"},"modified":"2022-08-16T17:06:41","modified_gmt":"2022-08-16T20:06:41","slug":"oman-modernizes-duqm-port","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/oman-modernizes-duqm-port\/","title":{"rendered":"Oman modernizes Duqm port"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The <strong>Port of Duqm<\/strong> in <strong>Oman<\/strong> has its modernization 86% completed, according to an announcement by the Public Authority for Special Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and published in the official local news agency Oman News Agency (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.omannews.gov.om\/topics\/en\/80\/show\/109657\/ona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ONA<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The project involved supplying and installing gantries and cranes as part of the second part of the commercial operation implementation at the port, located in the municipality of Duqm.<\/p>\n<p>In August last year, OPAZ granted German company <strong>Liebherr<\/strong> the design for the manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and operation of <strong>cranes<\/strong> and gantry cranes.<\/p>\n<p>The project includes the installation of four modern automated cranes to transfer containers from ships to the port&#8217;s quay, with a load capacity of 65 tonnes each, in addition to 12 rubber tire gantries for 41 tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>The cranes use 5G technology and fiber optic systems for data transmission and remote control. According to the ONA, they have high performance, with fast handling of containers.
