S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The line of 100% Brazilian costume jewellery created by designers Thereza and Paula Lino have already moved out of the borders of the country. The products made in hay, wood, leather, fabric, resin and ceramics are sold to Greece, the United States and Belgium. Now they are negotiating new orders with an importer from Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
The initial contact took place in 2008, in France, during the Eclat de Mode fair \u2013 the trade show for fashion jewellery, designer jewellery, silver and gold jewellery, in Paris, in which the tendencies for the next season are discovered. "We have already sent some items and are optimistic with regard to closing new orders," explained Paula Lino. <\/p>\n
The name Thereza e Paula Lino became a brand four years ago, when mother and daughter decided to join forces and entrepreneurship. Together, they draw and develop each new item. They produce earrings, necklaces, bracelets and handbags, all very exuberant and creative.<\/p>\n
To develop the work, Thereza and Paula count on the help of four artisans who work at their workshop, an artisan who prepares the hay, to be used mainly in the production of handbags, and also on drawings made by women in the community of Mar\u00e9 slums, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n
"We also make sure that our raw material is 100% Brazilian. Apart from that, it is a way to generate incentives to the work of artisans from Mar\u00e9, which is very organized and guarantees work and income for many women in the slum," pointed out the artisan.<\/p>\n
The Artes\u00e3s da Mar\u00e9 group is coordinated by NGO Devas and includes artisans and seamstresses who develop and produce clothes and fashion accessories.<\/p>\n
