Bras\u00edlia \u2013 The Bank of Brazil (BB) disclosed today (5) that it was responsible for 44% of all the advances over exchange contracts (ACCs) in the month of June.<\/p>\n
For the first time this year, the BB operated ACCs and Advance on Export Contracts (ACEs) for a monthly total of US$ 1.3 billion, which represents growth of 28% over the performance in May this year and 10% over June last year.<\/p>\n
According to a press statement by the bank, the BB reached unprecedented participation in export contracts this month. The contracts totalled US$ 4.1 billion, equivalent to 34% of the sector, and expanded the leadership it has in the sector.<\/p>\n
In import exchange, BB was responsible for US$ 2.8 billion in June, also presenting the best performance in 2009. With this result, the bank increased to 24.5% its participation in this market sector, in the first half of the year, against 23.9% in the same period in 2008.<\/p>\n
