The project will now be submitted to the Tribunal de Contas da Uni\u00e3o (Federal Audit Court, often referred to as TCU), which may suggest changes.<\/p>\n<p>According to the conditions approved, the Port of Santos will be <strong>privatized<\/strong> for 35 years, with the option of extending it for an additional five years. The winner of the bidding process will pay BRL 3.015 billion (USD 583.282 million) plus the fees of the auction, which has no set date. Furthermore, they will pay 28 installments of BRL 105 million (USD 20 million) each between the 8<sup>th<\/sup> and the 35<sup>th<\/sup> year of concession plus 20% of the consolidated gross operating revenue every year.<\/p>\n<p>The CPPI also established the minimum obligations that the winning bidder will have to perform. The operator will be responsible for dredging and skidding works on the waterway access; expanding and modernizing road access to the Port of Santos; implementing, operating and exploiting the dry link between Santos and Guaruj\u00e1; and maintaining the Itatinga Complex operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other biddings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the same meeting on the Port of Santos, the inclusion of the <strong>Dock Company of Rio de Janeiro<\/strong> and Par\u00e1 in the National Privatization Program (PND), The Rio de Janeiro company manages the ports of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Niter\u00f3i, Itagua\u00ed, and Angra dos Reis. The company in Par\u00e1 controls the ports of Bel\u00e9m, Vila do Conde, and Santar\u00e9m.<\/p>\n<p>The CPPI also approved the postponement of the rebidding of the <strong>Viracopos Airport<\/strong> in Campinas, S\u00e3o Paulo, and S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo do Amarante, Rio Grande do Norte.
