The team of Brazilian Health Devices (BHD), a sectoral project by <strong>ABIMO<\/strong> in partnership with the Brazilian Trade &amp; Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), will be from October 16 to 19 in Cairo, Egypt.\u00a0<em>Pictured, a hospital bed in Cairo.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The action is a development of the prospective <strong>mission<\/strong> led last June and will include B2Bs, commercial visits and meetings with entities and authorities of the country. Representatives of the <strong>healthcare<\/strong>, <strong>dental<\/strong> and <strong>lab<\/strong> segments will participate to promote Brazilian manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>The medical device companies joining the mission will be Fanem (medical and lab devices), Magnamed (lung ventilation), Opuspac (automation and hospital logistics), Biotecno (medical refrigeration), DFL (dental products), and Biodin\u00e2mica (dental products).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrazil has a good trade relationship with Egypt, stimulated by the [Mercosur-Egypt] free trade agreement. We hope this mission will promote the Brazilian industry and increase healthcare exports to the country,\u201d ABIMO Market Access analyst Jos\u00e9 Fernando Dantas was quoted as saying in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Representing the firm Biotecno, a medical and scientific refrigeration brand that manufactures refrigerators for vaccine, medicine and blood storage, L\u00eddia Lagemann is preparing and will go to Egypt to better understand the local ecosystem, evaluate opportunities and contact representatives and distributors in the region. \u201cOur biggest challenges include the competition of European, US and Chinese manufacturers, as well as the fact that some Arab countries are authorized to import reworked materials,\u201d she was quoted as saying in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>The company already has some contracts signed with countries such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and India, and it plans on starting talks with Egypt, a country with over 102 million residents and many opportunities. The company believes the Arab market is interested in Brazilian products. \u201cOur experience enables us to contribute with various solutions that will help the country, particularly regarding vaccine storage and handling,\u201d Lagemann said.
