In the same period last year, the surplus was lower: US$ 2.3 billion. In July this year, the trade surplus was US$ 2.927 billion.<\/p>\n<p> From January to August this year, the trade surplus was US$ 19.968 billion, a figure 18% higher than recorded in the same period of 2008 (US$ 16.928 billion).
