The exhibition shows photos of the visit of the monarch to the Holy Land in 1876. The exhibition is running from November 2 to December 1, from 9 am to 5 pm (ADT), except Fridays.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_320237\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-320237\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/exposicao-dom-pedro-jordania.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-320239 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/exposicao-dom-pedro-jordania-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/exposicao-dom-pedro-jordania-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/exposicao-dom-pedro-jordania-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/exposicao-dom-pedro-jordania-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/exposicao-dom-pedro-jordania.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-320237\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Authorities participate in opening<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The exhibition is part of the celebrations of the bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil celebrated this year and is held by the Gallery (<em>pictured above<\/em>) and Brazil\u2019s Embassy in Amman, with support from the <strong>Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> (ABCC) and the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies.<\/p>\n<p>The photographs exhibited are part of the \u201cThereza Christina Maria Collection,\u201d Brazil\u2019s first set of documents listed in UNESCO\u2019s Memory of the World Register. The emperor visited <strong>Lebanon<\/strong>, <strong>Syria<\/strong>, <strong>Palestine<\/strong> and <strong>Egypt<\/strong> in the nineteenth century and left several records of these travels, including photographs and diaries.<\/p>\n<p>The book <em>The Journeys of Dom Pedro II. Middle East and North Africa, 1871 and 1876<\/em> by Brazilian researcher and author Roberto Khatlab was one of the bases of the content of the exhibition in Jordan. Other Arab countries like Lebanon and Egypt also hosted exhibition on the <strong>travels of the emperor<\/strong> to mark Brazil\u2019s Bicentennial of Independence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe exhibitions held by the embassies of Brazil in Beirut, Cairo, Amman, and the one soon to be held in Jerusalem makes him remembered. He was the great <strong>promoter of Brazil in the East<\/strong> in the nineteenth century and a pioneer in Brazil-Arab relations,\u201d Khatlab says, adding that the exhibition will also take place in Brazil and that the emperor\u2019s visit to the Arab countries attracted immigrants.<\/p>\n<p>The opening of the show in Amman was attended by Tourism and Antiquities minister Nayef Al-Fayez, who represented the chairman of the curator board of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies, prince El Hassan Bin Talal.
