The lectures will pivot around the exhibition\u2019s theme, <strong>\u201cThe Trip of Emperor Pedro II of Brazil to the Holy Land in 1876: A collection of Nineteenth Century Photos\u201d<\/strong>, taking place at the National Gallery of Fine Arts of Jordan from November 2 to December 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will also take place at the Jordanian gallery, at 5:30 pm EEST, with lectures in English. Speaking at the meeting will be Brazilian researcher Roberto Khatlab, director of the Center for Latin American Studies and Cultures (Cecal) of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) in Lebanon, and author of a book on the travels of the Brazilian emperor to the Arab countries; and the director of the El Hassan Center for Jerusalem Studies, Mohammad Hashem Ghosheh. Khatlab\u2019s book was one of the foundations of the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>The photo exhibition and the conference are part of celebrations of the bicentennial of Brazil\u2019s Independence this year. Lectures on the exhibition theme will be held by the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (RIIFS), the National Gallery of Fine Arts of Jordan, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), and the Embassy of Brazil to Amman. The exhibition contains pictures of Pedro II\u2019s trip to the Holy Land.
