S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 A\u00e7a\u00ed, tapioca, cocoa, and coffee from Brazil are some of the products Ayman Ghanam, founder and CEO of Projeto A\u00e7a\u00ed<\/strong>, seeks to market in his spaces in Dubai<\/strong>, in the United Arab Emirates. The brand was established in 2017, and, in addition to the name in Portuguese, it also carries Brazilian influence in its ingredients, menu, and color-rich aesthetics.<\/p>\n

The flood of references is because the businessman has already been to Brazil<\/strong> several times, and he sought from the source all these details he later brought to the family business. \u201cI had already visited Brazil several times and was having a\u00e7a\u00ed at home. My family had a small cafeteria that wasn\u2019t doing well, and we decided the best way to try to save the business was to start our a\u00e7a\u00ed project,\u201d he revealed to ANBA.<\/p>\n

The a\u00e7a\u00ed in Ghanam\u2019s stores comes from Bel\u00e9m, in the northern Brazilian state of Par\u00e1<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

But Ghanam\u2019s experience on Brazilian soil was not limited to tourism. \u201cI\u2019ve lived in Brazil, and I speak Portuguese! I have lived in Rio de Janeiro and have many friends there. My heart is Brazilian. I go back there every year and have visited many different states, including Par\u00e1<\/strong>, where we buy our a\u00e7a\u00ed from. I love the Brazilian people; Brazil\u2019s music, culture, and nature are very special to me; it\u2019s my favorite place on earth. I\u2019ve surfed in several states of Brazil and tried many different foods, from Esp\u00edrito Santo\u2019s moqueca to Bahia\u2019s acaraj\u00e9, and Rio Grande do Sul\u2019s barbecue. I hope to experience more of what Brazil has to offer; each state is unique and has its own flavors and culture,\u201d he said about his connection with the country.<\/p>\n

About his origins, the entrepreneur defines himself as a mixture. \u201c<\/strong>My father is Arab, my mother is British-Italian, and I grew up mainly in Dubai,\u201d he said. The company\u2019s first point of sale was opened in the Dubai Marina district. The brand currently has seven stores, some of which have partner investors with the founder.<\/p>\n

Healthy Brazilian food<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ghanam sees how the UAE\u2019s market for coffee shops and healthy foods<\/strong> is booming. \u201cDubai is very competitive and fast, but this is a disadvantage among many advantages. If you stay true to yourself and offer something unique with good service, you\u2019ll make it. After that, many may try to copy it, but that keeps it standing!\u201d highlighted him, who bets on the sector and seeks a healthy lifestyle himself.<\/p>\n

We have a solid supply chain because we have high consumption, and we have learned from our own mistakes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
