S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Palco Companhia de Teatro will be the first Brazilian troupe ever to participate in the Neapolis International Festival of Kids Theater in the town of Nabeul, Tunisia<\/strong>. The 35th<\/sup> session of the festival takes place from December 18 to 25 and brings together 16 theater companies from 14 countries: Algeria, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Chipre, Egypt, French, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n

Led by Paula Giannini, Palco Companhia de Teatro will take two plays to the festivals and perform each twice.<\/p>\n

If This Street Was Mine<\/em><\/strong> is a play featuring interactive games and songs from Brazilian kids\u2019 folklore that has been performed for 17 years and grossed many awards, while the play My Little Ox Wants to Play<\/em><\/strong> is a musical with Carnaval and frevo songs, masks, dolls, and confetti war, as well as interactive animals, the leading one being Bumba Meu Boi, or Boi Bumba, from Brazilian folklore.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian performances will take place on December 20, 21 and 22 and feature translation into Arabic.<\/p>\n

Giannini told ANBA that four troupe members, including her, are going and will take turns as cast and staff members during the presentation. \u201cEverybody does everything around here,\u201d said the actor and playwright. Furthermore, sets, equipment and costumes are going in their baggage. Giannini will be accompanied by actor and director Amauri Ernani, actor and costume designer Sido Calesso, and actress and prop master Andreza Crocetti.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis type of experience is really worth it. The theater of each of these countries is very rich. I write to an electronic drama magazine, and when I come back, I\u2019ll recount this trip,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The troupe is traveling by the invitation of the Embassy of Brazil in Tunisia for the purpose of promoting Brazilian culture in the Arab country.<\/p>\n
