S\u00e3o Paulo – Embraer, the Brazilian aircraft-maker, has expanded its deliveries in the third quarter of this year by 18.8%. According to figures disclosed by the company yesterday (7th), deliveries reached 57 jets. In the accumulated result for the year up to September, the company has already delivered 153 aircraft. The firm order backlog totalled US$ 18.6 billion in late September, lower than at the end of the previous quarter.<\/p>\n
Of the total number of aircraft delivered by Embraer in the last quarter, 29 were for the commercial aviation sector, 27 for the executive aviation sector and one for the defence sector. Among the companies that received Embraer jets in the period are British Airways, from the Untied Kingdom, LAM Mozambique, Lufthansa Cityline, from Germany, and Lot Polish Airlines.<\/p>\n
In the defence area, Embraer made a delivery to the government of Brazil. The Embraer 190 should be used on missions of the Presidency of the Republic, according to the company, and is being operated by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) Special Transport Group.<\/p>\n
Embraer is the global leader in production of commercial jets for up to 120 passengers. The company is headquartered in S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 dos Campos, in the interior of the state of S\u00e3o Paulo, and has offices, industrial installations and workshops in Brazil, the Untied States, France, Portugal, China and Singapore.
