Despite the growth, foreign sales of the product in the first nine months of the year dropped 48%, totalling US$ 791 million. The figures were disclosed by the Confederation of Brazilian Hides and Skins Industries (CICB).<\/p>\n<p> Up to September, the main destinations for Brazilian leather were China and Hong Kong, with imports of US$ 297.1 million, Italy, with US$ 174.5 million, the United States, with US$ 66.3 million, and Vietnam, with US$ 29 million. In the accumulated result for the year, Paraguay boosted purchases by 335%, to US$ 2 million, Romania&#8217;s purchases grew 200%, and the country imported US$ 1.42 million.<\/p>\n<p> Lebanon is also expanding its purchases of Brazilian leather.
