S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The secretary general at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/b>, Michel Alaby, should make a presentation about the business opportunities in Arab countries next Thursday (22nd). The event is free and should be promoted in Jo\u00e3o Pessoa, in Para\u00edba. <\/p>\n
The talk is part of the program of the International Business Centre of Pra\u00edba (CIN-PB) and has been under development since September. The CIN is an initiative of the Federation of Industries of the State of Para\u00edba and of the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae). Through the project, several talks are promoted to prospect international markets. The seminars are turned to businessmen from importers and exporters, as well as students of international relations.<\/p>\n
At the talk, Alaby should make a presentation of the Arab Brazilian Chamber and should make a presentation about how to negotiate with the Arab countries. "I am going to present a profile of the Arab countries with regard to exports, trade, population, income and economic figures. I am going to show our export basket, the opportunities the countries have to offer to Brazilian companies and we will see the potential (of Para\u00edba) to foster the opportunities," said the secretary general.<\/p>\n
From January to September this year, Para\u00edba exported mainly sugar, rubber shoes, vulcanised rubber products and machinery for the filling and sealing of tins, as well as devices for data processing. In the mean time, in the first seven months of 2009, the Northeastern Brazilian state imported the equivalent to US$ 53.82 million from the Arab countries, especially chemical products, like phosphates and their products.<\/p>\n
The first country to be presented to businessmen from Para\u00edba, in the cycle of talks, was India. The events should progress up to November, when the Foreign Trade Meetings (Encomex), promoted by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, should take place in Para\u00edba. "The idea is to provide further information on the countries, disclose what is already taking place (in terms of foreign trade), focussing on the state of Para\u00edba to seek new partners," said Karina Gueiros, the manager of the CIN-PB.<\/p>\n
