According to the Ministry, the decision was taken after a meeting between Minister Carlos F\u00e1varo and China\u2019s Minister of General Administration of Customs, Yu Jianhua, in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>Imports from Brazil had been suspended since February after the confirmation of a case classified by the Brazilian government as \u201cisolated and atypical\u201d of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), also known as \u201cmad cow disease.\u201d The report came from a small farm in the municipality of Marab\u00e1, in the Northern Brazilian state of Par\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the discovery of the case, MAPA has been working with transparency and taking all the necessary measures following the international import protocol,\u201d said the Ministry in a release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sure this is a step for Brazil to advance more and more with the accreditation of plants and opportunities for Brazilian livestock,\u201d reckoned minister Carlos F\u00e1varo, at the end of the meeting, in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translated by El\u00fasio Brasileiro<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"credits-overlay\" data-target=\".wp-image-326927\">\u00a9Leonardo Benassatto\/Anadolu Agency\/AFP<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beef imports from Brazil to China had been suspended since February after an isolated and atypical case of BSE (mad cow disease).
