{"id":327813,"date":"2023-04-10T15:58:55","date_gmt":"2023-04-10T18:58:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=327813"},"modified":"2023-04-12T14:00:38","modified_gmt":"2023-04-12T17:00:38","slug":"meatpacker-jbs-expands-green-offices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/meatpacker-jbs-expands-green-offices\/","title":{"rendered":"Meatpacker JBS expands green offices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazilian food firm <strong>JBS <\/strong>opened three new green offices to expand the efforts towards environmental sustainability in agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>green office<\/strong> project began nearly two years ago and sees the opening of service points that help in the environmental regularization of farms in livestock farming regions.<\/p>\n<p>So far 4,800 farms have been assisted.<\/p>\n<p>The three new offices added to the project are in the municipalities of Aragua\u00edna, Tocantins, Navira\u00ed, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Vilhena, Rond\u00f4nia. Now the initiative features 18 units.<\/p>\n<p>JBS said over 1,000 hectares have been turned into forest recovery land.<\/p>\n<p>The offices offer free <strong>environmental legal guidance<\/strong> to support cattle raisers comply with <strong>socio-environmental requirements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These units also showcase and advise farmers in its register on the Transparent Livestock Farming Platform, a free blockchain technology platform that allows JBS suppliers to see whether their supply chain is socially and environmentally compliant<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Green Offices were born out of the vision that simply blocking cattle purchases from a cattle farmer that is not compliant with our buying policies won\u2019t solve the environmental challenges Brazil faces.
