Brazil’s trade surplus amounted thus to USD 8.2 billion in April, up 5.5% despite the decline in exports.

The performance in April was the result of a 13.7% increase in exports of agricultural products, counterbalanced by a 6.6% decrease in extractive industry exports and a 6.3% decrease in transformation industry exports.

According to the Ministry, the decline in April was mainly driven by the drop in revenue of exports such as maize, unroasted coffee, and raw cotton. Exports of iron ore, lignite and peat, petroleum, and beef also fell.

Translated by Guilherme Miranda

André Kasczeszen/APPA

[91
41443,41442,27711,1810,573
0":"post-328894","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-economy","8":"tag-april-brazil-trade-balance","9":"tag-april-trade-balance","10":"tag-balanca-comercial-en","11":"tag-trade","12":"tag-trade-balance
["GET
