The net profit of the Brazilian company was US$ 4.107 billion in the period from July to September, against US$ 4.73 billion by the North American competitor.<\/p>\n<p> Among the Latin American companies, Petrobras was in the first place, followed by mining company Vale, also Brazilian, which had net profit of US$ 1.689 billion in the third quarter.
