The area to be harvested throughout the year is expected to stand at 76.4 million hectares, up 4.3% from 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the leading cereal crops of the Latin American countries, increases from 2022 are forecasted in soybeans (24.7%), maize (8.8%), herbaceous cotton (2.8%), beans (1.5%), and sorghum (23%). On the other hand, output declines are expected to be seen for rice (7.5%), wheat (1.7%) and oat (6.5%).<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian agency Conab also released its crop prediction on Thursday. Conab considers the crop-year, which goes from one year\u2019s harvest to the next&#8217;s), while IBGE takes into account the harvest carried out throughout the calendar year.<\/p>\n<p>The estimate by Conab for wheat output in Brazil for the 2022\/23 crop is 313.9 million tonnes, up 41.4 million tonnes, or 15.2%, from the previous crop-year (2021\/22).<\/p>\n<p>If the expectations are to be confirmed, Brazil will see a new record harvest.
