S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The United Arab Emirates<\/strong> wants to boost its industry in sectors such as energy, aviation, telecommunication, healthcare, and food and beverages. The Make it in the Emirates Forum is a forum on the topic that\u2019ll take place in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (31) and Thursday (1), said the Consulate General of the UAE in S\u00e3o Paulo in a bid to attract Brazilian attendees.<\/p>\n

The Make it in the Emirates Forum is held by the UAE\u2019s Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technologies (MoIAT), the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The attendance of Brazilian firms is expected for them to learn the benefits of establishing plants in the Arab country and manufacturing locally.<\/p>\n

On the event\u2019s website, Industry and Advanced Technologies minister Sultan Al Jaber, said the objective of the forum is to safeguard the national progress, leverage competitive advantages, attract industrial sector investments, support local manufacturing, and create growth opportunities. \u201cWith an ultimate goal of empowering our national economy and increasing the industrial sector’s contribution to the GDP to more than AED 300 billion [USD 81 billion] by 2031,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The forum is expected to gather major UAE firms and be a space for sharing acquisition plans and investment opportunities. Organizers said these firms look for relations with national and international high-profile companies interested in investing in manufacturing in the UAE. In 2022, 1,800 people participated, resulting in AED 110 billion (USD 30 billion) in potential purchase agreements and over 30 agreements.<\/p>\n

In addition to major companies, representatives from governments, financial institutions, small- and medium-sized enterprises and investors are expected to attend. The program includes panels, award ceremonies, and exhibitions. The MoIAT holds the Make it in the Emirates Award to highlight excellence and innovation in the industrial sector. The winners will be announced in a ceremony during the forum.<\/p>\n

The program runs from 8am to 5pm on both days at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center.<\/p>\n
