S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Egyptian ambassador to Bras\u00edlia (the Brazilian capital), Ahmed Darwish, met today (9th) with directors of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/b>, in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, to discuss actions pertaining to trade, diplomacy and culture that should take place in coming months. He was welcomed at the organisation\u2019s headquarters by its president, Salim Taufic Schahin.<\/p>\n
According to the Arab Brazilian Chamber secretary general, Michel Alaby, who attended the meeting, one of the topics discussed was a trade mission that the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade intends to promote to the Middle East in April 2010, headed by minister Miguel Jorge. In addition to Egypt, the aim is to bring a delegation of businessmen to Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Iran.<\/p>\n
The diplomat and the Arab Brazilian Chamber directors also talked about the visit that the Brazilian foreign minister, Celso Amorim, is going to make to Egypt this month, and about a Pharaonic art exhibition in Brazil.<\/p>\n
The ambassador wants to promote the exhibition in the cities of S\u00e3o Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Bras\u00edlia and Florian\u00f3polis. Also today, he should pay a visit to the Armando \u00c1lvares Penteado Foundation (Faap), in S\u00e3o Paulo, to find a location for the event.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow, Darwish remains in S\u00e3o Paulo and should attend a meeting in order to discuss with auto parts sector representatives the possibility of a mission to Egypt.<\/p>\n
The meeting held today was also attended by the International Relations vice president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Helmi Nasr, director Mustapha Abdouni and the head of the Egyptian commercial office in S\u00e3o Paulo, Mahmoud Mazhar.<\/p>\n
