S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Cultural centre Casa das Rosas<\/i>, maintained by the government of the state of S\u00e3o Paulo in the capital of the same name, will promote an evening dedicated to Middle Eastern poetry next Tuesday (15th). The meeting, named \u201cMiddle Eastern Poetry Evening,\u201d is organized by L\u00e9lia Romero, Jos\u00e9 Luiz Golfarb and Karen Kipnis. According to information disclosed by Casa das Rosas<\/i>, it will be \u201ca moment of gathering for lovers of peace from all cultures and beliefs,\u201d as an example of the peaceful coexistence of different cultures that the city of S\u00e3o Paulo offers.<\/p>\n
One of the contemporary poems to be read is Gal\u00e1xias<\/i>, by poet Haroldo de Campos. The reading will be done in Arabic and Hebrew. Haroldo de Campos was a poet based in S\u00e3o Paulo who lived from 1929 to 2003. <\/p>\n
Casa das Rosas<\/i> is one of the best known cultural spaces for poetry in the city. It is located in an old house on Paulista avenue, and was designed by architect Ramos de Azevedo in 1928.
