According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, May was a particularly busy month with over 292,300 people visiting the country, a 44.5% increase compared to May 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of these tourists hailed from Argentina (1.24 million), followed by the United States (271,100), and Paraguay (215,500).<\/p>\n<p>Most international tourists came from Argentina (1.24 million), the United States (271,100) and Paraguay (215,5000). Collectively, visitors from these three countries constituted nearly half of foreign visitors to Brazil. Chile (197,800) and Uruguay (184,900) also featured in the top five countries of origin for tourists.<\/p>\n<p>Most popular destinations within Brazil included Paran\u00e1, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Tourism, Daniela Carneiro, attributed this growth to policy changes in Brazil. \u201cWe\u2019ve seen record numbers of international visitors, a result from different actions of the government, like Brazil\u2019s increased engagement globally and commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation. This has cemented us as a attractive destination, providing a unique, unforgettable opportunity for travelers from all over the world,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Tourism has also positively impacted Brazil\u2019s economy.
