S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Syrian consul general to the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, Ibrahim Issa, is organizing a business mission from his country to Brazil. On this Monday (21st), on his first visit to the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/b>, Issa met with the president of the organization, Salim Taufic Schahin, and with members of the board of directors to address the matter. He assumed the position of consul in August this year.<\/p>\n
There is no set date yet for the coming of the delegation. Issa claims that he expects the executives to come to Brazil to get to know the country\u2019s potentialities. \u201cWe want the Syrian businessmen to visit Brazil and do business,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He believes that despite the great distance between Syria and Brazil, there is much to be tapped in the relation between the two nations, such as industry, tourism and trade. \u201cAnyone interested in doing business in Syria can do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The consul also stated that aside from the Arab Brazilian Chamber, he has been in touch with Syrian clubs located in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, as well as with Sunni, Shiite and Druze religious leaders.<\/p>\n
\u201cEver since I arrived here in Brazil, I have been in touch with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, and I expect a high degree of cooperation and collaboration between the Chamber and Syrian organizations, on every level,\u201d said Issa.<\/p>\n
In addition to being the Syrian consul general to Brazil, Issa has worked in Britain, Tanzania, Spain, Romania and Bulgaria. \u201cThis is my first visit to a Latin American country, and it was my dream to come to this part of the world,\u201d he said in an interview to ANBA.<\/p>\n
The meeting with the consul was also attended by the Arab Brazilian Chamber Foreign Relations vice president Helmi Nasr, the secretary general Michel Alaby, and directors Sami Roumieh, Mustapha Abdouni and Toufic Sleiman.<\/p>\n
