S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 This week, three electronics and computer factories have formally announced, to the government of Minas Gerais, their intention of investing in the state. Electrical conductor manufacturer Condumig Ind\u00fastria de Condutores El\u00e9tricos de Minas Gerais, electronic component maker Atomic Ind\u00fastria de Componentes Eletr\u00f4nicos, and computer manufacturer Quad Core Inform\u00e1tica intend to develop projects or expand their activities in the municipality of Divin\u00f3polis, in the interior of the state. <\/p>\n
Total investment to be made by the three companies will be 29.5 million Brazilian reals (US$ 16.5 million). The sum will be invested up until 2011 and will generate 750 new direct and indirect jobs, according to the government of Minas Gerais.<\/p>\n
Condumig is going to implement a copper rod plant by July 2011. The company will also expand its electrical conductor manufacturing unit. The two initiatives will cost 13.5 million reals (US$ 7.5 million). Construction of the new factory will start in January next year, and the annual production capacity will be 4,000 tonnes of copper rods per year.<\/p>\n
Atomic is going to invest 13.3 million reals (US$ 7.4 million) on implementing a unit for manufacturing and assembling video boards. In the future the company will also manufacture mother boards at the premises. Quad Core is going to implement an industrial unit for manufacturing computers and assembling laptop computers for third-party companies. For such, the company is going to invest 2.7 million reals (US$ 1.5 million). Construction work started in November and the unit will start operating by January next year.<\/p>\n
