S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Animal healthcare company Ouro Fino Agroneg\u00f3cio, headquartered in the city of Cravinhos, in the interior of the state of S\u00e3o Paulo, exports approximately 500,000 units of veterinary drugs per year to three Arab countries: Sudan, Mauritania and Saudi Arabia. <\/p>\n
Regarding the expansion of sales in the region, Jos\u00e9 Adolfo Trevelin, the company\u2019s Foreign Trade director, claims that \u201cthe intention is to augment.\u201d \u201cWe are seeking partners in order to expand our deals,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n
The medicine exported to the Arabs consists mostly of antiparasitic drugs, for internal diseases, such as worms, and for external ones, such as ticks and scabies. The nine types of products sold to those countries may be used on camels, bovines, goats, horses and sheep.<\/p>\n
Sudan accounts for 50% of Ouro Fino Agroneg\u00f3cio\u2019s exports to the Arabs. In total, Sudan, Mauritania and Saudi Arabia account for roughly 5% of the company\u2019s annual revenues from foreign sales. Sales to the Arabs range from US$ 600,000 to US$ 700,000, out of a total of US$ 13 million per year in exports by the company.<\/p>\n
Ouro Fino Agroneg\u00f3cio was established in 1987 and posted 205 million Brazilian reals (US$ 117.5 million) in revenues in 2008. According to the company\u2019s website, it has an annual growth rate of 25%. The Ouro Fino plant in the city of Cravinhos occupies an area of 125,000 square metres, and Ouro Fino ranks seventh among the leading animal healthcare companies in Brazil. <\/p>\n
