S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazil and Qatar may be partners in the development of projects. So says the president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/b>, Salim Taufic Schahin, who will attend a luncheon to pay tribute to the emir of the Arab country, Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, to be offered by president in Bras\u00edlia (the Brazilian capital) next Wednesday (20th).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe emir\u2019s visit is very important, due to the fact that Qatar is a thriving country,\u201d said Schahin. He underscored the economic progress and the large discoveries of hydrocarbons, especially gas, that took place in the North of the country.<\/p>\n
The executive added that Qatar has proved its capacity to develop in fields other than economics, such as communication, with the establishment of the Aljazeera TV network, and culture, with the inauguration of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, in 2008.<\/p>\n
He underscored that Qatar is a small country, even though it has a large amount of resources, and that it seeks investment opportunities abroad. \u201cWe can develop projects together, we want them as partners,\u201d stated Schahin. \u201cBrazil can be a target [of that investment],\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The emir will come to Brazil along with the prime minister, Hamad Bin Jassem Al Thani, who intends to meet with representatives of large Brazilian companies to prospect for investment opportunities in the country.<\/p>\n

According to the Brazilian ambassador to Doha, \u00c2nuar Nahes, Brazilians have become significantly more interested in Qatar during the two years in which he occupied the position. He claimed that there has been an increase in the number of visits made by authorities, technicians attending seminars, and executives on trade missions.<\/p>\n
The diplomat underscored that many new Brazilian companies with a \u201chigh technological content\u201d and headed by well-prepared executives are seeking to do business in Qatar.<\/p>\n
