S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Vit\u00f3ria Stone Fair, a trade show for the marble and granite industry that will be held in Vit\u00f3ria, capital of the state of Esp\u00edrito Santo, from February 23rd to 26th, will bring together 50 foreign exhibitors from 12 countries, among them Egypt. Egyptian companies Iso Marble and Marmonil have been participating in the event since 2006.<\/p>\n
Iso Marble is part of the Al-Amana group, established in 1974 and considered to be one of Egypt\u2019s largest groups in the industry. The company specializes in stone exploration, blocks manufacturing, and custom-made cuts for construction projects. It has a production capacity of 750,000 square metres of marble blocks per year.<\/p>\n
The other company, Marmonil, a family business founded in 1963, has 40 deposits and its services range from stone extraction to processing. With representatives in all continents, the company works with 18 different types of marbles and granites.<\/p>\n
This year, Vit\u00f3ria Stone Fair will have 370 domestic and foreign exhibitors, which are going to exhibit stones, machinery, equipment, inputs and services for the industry. Aside from Egyptian companies, there will be enterprises from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Pakistan, India and China, among others.<\/p>\n
According to the event\u2019s organizer, Cec\u00edlia Milanez Milaneze, this edition will be a sort of thermometer for assessing the recovery of the global ornamental stone market. According to an article published on the fair\u2019s website, visitors from several countries have already enrolled for the event.<\/p>\n
Visitors at the fair will bear witness to the diversity of Brazilian stones and the amount of deposits in the state of Esp\u00edrito Santo. During the event, packages will be available for visitation to companies and quarries in the Marble and Granite Route, which includes the south and north of the state of Esp\u00edrito Santo. In the south, the routes comprise mainly the region of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, which houses important companies and sawmills. <\/p>\n

The Brazilian state concentrates the majority of the industry\u2019s exports. Last year, it accounted for 66% of the US$ 955 million exported by Brazil, according to data supplied by the Brazilian Centre of Ornamental Stone Exporters (Centrorochas). Esp\u00edrito Santo has the world\u2019s second largest industrial hub of the segment, and is one of the most important stone trading hubs. The industry employs 130,000 people in the state and extracts 800,000 cubic metres of stones per year.<\/p>\n
