Average daily production reached 2.525 million barrels, against 2.434 million produced in the same month last year. The figures were disclosed today (24) by the Brazilian company.<\/p>\n<p> In Brazilian fields, average production reached 2.284 million barrels, which represented growth of 2.9% over the volume produced in January 2009. Total production of fields in the country dropped 1% over the volume extracted in December, due to preventive maintenance in three platforms at Campos Basin.<\/p>\n<p> Oil production exclusively in national fields was 1.972 million barrels a day, 2.5% over the volume extracted in January last year and 14,000 barrels below the volume extracted in December 2009.<\/p>\n<p> In Petrobras fields abroad, the volume reached 241,310 barrels in January, growth of 12.3% over the same period last year. According to the company, the expansion was due to the new fields of Akpo and Agbami, in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p> The volume of natural gas in the national fields was 49.54 million cubic metres a day in January, the same level as that of December and January 2009.
