The company’s goal for 2010 is to have revenues from exports rise from 5% to 20% of total revenues. The Arab countries are among the bets of the manufacturing company.

"We already export to Lebanon, but the sales volume is still low, and we are aware of the region’s huge potential for Brazilian clothing," says owner/partner Egídio Felipim de Godoy. According to him, the Lebanese client has several stores and sells the items under the Beth Bebê brand. "I believe the ideal situation would be for us to find a local representative to cater to the whole of Middle East," he claims.

In order to attain its goal of conquering new customers abroad, Beth Bebê is going to invest in participating at trade shows such as the International Infantile, Juvenile and Baby Trade Fair (FIT), to be held at exhibition complex Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo, from June 22nd to 25th. "We have attended several editions of the FIT, and we have always met several foreign buyers at the event," says Godoy.

Beth Bebê has 200 employees and manufactures approximately 25,000 sets of baby clothes each month. The company was established in 1985, and in the beginning it operated with overalls, christening gowns and layette sets, made from acrylic yarn. Later on, new designs, new fabrics and new materials were added.

"The brand consolidated itself through the years, especially when it bought new machinery, enabling clothing to be manufactured using various types of fabric, such as cotton and plush, thus allowing for products to be adapted for all seasons," explains the businessman.

In 1995 the distribution chain was expanded through the addition of representatives in large hubs across the country. Now, the company has representatives in all of Brazil.

Contact
Site: www.bethbebe.com.br
E-mail: bethbebe@bethbebe.com.br
Telephone: (+55 19) 3895.1232

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

The goal of brand Beth Bebê, which owns a factory in the interior of the São Paulo state, is to have exports account for 20% of revenues by the end of 2010.
