S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazilian aircraft manufacturing company Embraer announced today (4th) the sale of a Legacy 650, a new executive jet with greater range than the Legacy 600, which the company already makes, to a customer in Jordan.<\/p>\n
The aircraft is going to be managed by charter airline Arab Wings, based in the country. The information was disclosed by Embraer, which is participating in the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (Ebace), currently taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.<\/p>\n
According to Embraer, delivery of the Legacy 650 is scheduled for the second half of 2010, after the company obtains certification by both the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (Easa).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are witnessing a growing demand for our aircraft management services in the region, and this Legacy 650 will be the latest addition to our fleet of managed aircraft, which is growing fast,\u201d said Ahmad Abughazaleh, CEO of Arab Wings, according to a release issued by Embraer. In addition to the new Legacy, Arab Wings will also incorporate to its fleet this year a Phenom 100, a small jet made by Embraer.<\/p>\n
The list price of the Legacy 650 is US$ 29.5 million. The executive jet has capacity for up to 13 passengers, has leather seats, a couch, tables for meals or meetings, a kitchen, a bathroom, a wardrobe, and an entertainment system with DVD and satellite communication. The first deliver of the Legacy 650 should go to an European client.<\/p>\n
The Legacy 650 was announced last year during the 62nd Annual Meeting and Convention of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), in the United States, as a version of greater range using the platform of the Legacy 600 model.<\/p>\n
