S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Jordan is the leading Arab buyer and second main importer of products by Brazilian company Saraiva Retrovisores, which manufactures mirrors for automobiles. The enterprise also sells to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, totalling approximately 1,000 rear-view mirrors for buses shipped each to the region, generating US$ 180,000 in revenues.<\/p>\n
Now Saraiva is seeking new distributors in those markets and in other Arab countries. \u201cWe are looking for partners in the Arab market. We are talking to some distributors, but nothing has been confirmed yet, we are searching,\u201d says Carlos Eduardo Monguilhott, the company\u2019s Export manager.<\/p>\n
Saraiva started selling to Jordan in 2002, by means of an Arab businessman who knew a customer of the company in Brazil. Presently, it sets aside 30% for foreign sales, Mexico being its leading buyer. In 2009, the company earned US$ 700,000 in revenues from exports.<\/p>\n
Monguilhott believes that there are lots of space for the company to expand its business in the Middle East. \u201cThey have no supply, therefore we can grow a lot. If we are able to close deals with two or three more bus companies in the region, our sales to the region will increase a lot,\u201d he claims.<\/p>\n
Saraiva Retrovisores has 100 employees and supplies all of the bus assembly companies in Brazil. Its clients include companies such as Marcopolo, Busscar, Caio and Mascarello.<\/p>\n
