S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Dubai\u2019s modern architecture inspired the creation of the Mulher Moderna <\/i>(Modern Woman) line of shoe manufacturing company Cal\u00e7ados Biondini, headquartered in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The company will launch its 2011 spring-summer collection next Monday at Francal, Latin America\u2019s largest shoe and accessory fair.<\/p>\n
The collection is divided into three types of women, with features typical of different periods: women of the 1950s, women of the 1980s, and modern women. According to the company\u2019s designer, Paola Fabris, photographs of Dubai\u2019s architecture, with images of the tallest and most modern buildings, were collected in order to create the \u201cModern Woman\u201d line. \u201cWe established a link between modern women and Dubai\u2019s architecture,\u201d said the designer.<\/p>\n
This modernity may be seen in the shoes\u2019 adornment, such as the shoes\u2019 fasteners, which are very elaborate. \u201cWe have incorporated some of the architectural latticework, for instance, to the shoes,\u201d said Paola. The fasteners are available in wood and acrylic. Another feature of the shoes is straight lines. \u201cThis line looks \u2018cleaner\u2019, with more neutral colours such as white, black, nude and desert,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
In general, the collection brings bold models and differentiated prints. The 1950s-inspired line Menina Mulher <\/i>(Woman Child) features shoes with lots of bows, flowers and butterflies. It is a more romantic, feminine and delicate line. The 1980s-inspired line Mulher Audaciosa <\/i>(Bold Woman), in turn, features more aggressive shoes, strong colours and more differentiated models.<\/p>\n
Another new feature of Biondini\u2019s shoes is fish leather, manufactured using Acoupa Weakfish. The species is captured in a conscious, non-predatory way, respecting environmental laws and the species\u2019 reproduction periods. The skin is processed using clean, toxic-free technology. According to the company, fish leather is a differentiated material that ensures an innovative design.<\/p>\n
Cal\u00e7ados Biondini, has a manufacturing plant in the city of Tr\u00eas Coroas, was founded in 2003 and employs approximately 100 people. With regard to foreign markets, the company is present in Africa, Europe and Japan.<\/p>\n
