Shipments totalled 2,075,276 60-kilogram bags, a reduction of 13.4% using the same basis of comparison. The data were disclosed today (7th) by the Brazilian Coffee Exporter Council (Cecaf\u00e9).<\/p>\n<p> According to the organization, the reduction coincides with the end of the 2009\/2010 crop. A total of 39 million bags were produced, a volume that matches the forecasts of the National Food Supply Company (Conab), according to a statement issued by the Cecaf\u00e9. Coffee of the Arabica variety accounted for 78% of foreign sales, soluble coffee accounted for 14%, and the Robusta variety represented 8% of exports.<\/p>\n<p> So far this year, revenues from shipments totalled US$ 2.2 billion, representing growth of 11% over the period ranging from January to June 2009. Exports totalled 14.32 million bags, a 4% decline using the same basis of comparison.<\/p>\n<p> The main target countries in the first half were Germany, the United States, Italy and Japan. Region-wise, the main markets were Europe, which received 54% of imports, North America (21%), Asia (17%) and South America (6%).<\/p>\n<p> The Arab countries imported the equivalent of US$ 74.7 million in Brazilian coffee in the first half, a figure 4.6% lower than in the same period of 2009.
