The largest volumes are shipped to the United Arab Emirates – which mostly import electrodes –, Singapore, the United States, and Latin American countries. In the Middle East, the company also sells to Bahrain.

According to the export coordinator Fabiano de Freitas Leite, the company began exporting shortly after it was established, in 1955. “Exports are an important factor for the Esab, because they lead to development of new products, optimization of production, and greater quality control ,” he said. Exports are also important for the company’s revenues,” he added. The company does not disclose the share of exports in total sales or its revenues figures.

According to Leite, one of the company’s strategies for conquering new clients in Brazil and abroad consists of taking part in international trade shows for the industry, such as Mecânica, in São Paulo, Expomin, in Chile, Essen, in Germany; and other fairs in Argentina and Colombia.

Esab Brazil is a subsidiary of Esab Holdings, based in London, England, and owned by the Charter Plc group. With three factories in Contagem, in the state of Minas Gerais, Esab inaugurated its first plant in Brazil on September 24th, 1955. It started out making shielded electrodes, and in the 1970s it started making soldering equipment and fluxes.

Esab’s products have been present throughout the entire Brazilian territory since the 1940s, when the Carlo Pareta company began selling electrodes imported from Esab Sweden. In 1998, the Brazilian arm of Esab purchased a majority stake in Eutectic Brasil Indústria e Comércio and became a leader in the special soldering processes market.

Presently, the company has branches across the country, in the cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Recife and Porto Alegre. “This vast array of distributors and resellers also services the end user market of soldering and cutting products, which makes product delivery swifter,” said Leite.

Esab worldwide

The Swedish businessman Oscar Kjellberg founded Esab in 1904, shortly after inventing the shielded electrode. Presently, the company is on a market whose annual revenues from sales are estimated at US$ 10 billion. Worldwide, the company is organized into four regions: Europe, North America, South America, and Asia/Pacific and India.

In 1994, Esab was purchased by the British group Charter Plc. The group operates in two main lines of business: Esab, the global leader in soldering and cutting, and Howden, the global leader in manufacturing of equipment for air and gas handling.

Esab has representatives in nearly all countries by means of subsidiaries or agents. The company also has sales and direct support operations in over 80 countries, with 26 plants in four different continents.

Contact

Site: www.esab.com.br
Telephone: (+55 31) 2191-4431

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

The electrode and soldering and cutting products manufacturer exports to the Arab country. in the Middle East, the Swedish company based in London also supplies the Bahraini market.

[91

0":"post-35356","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-economy
The electrode and soldering and cutting products manufacturer exports to the Arab country. in the Middle East, the Swedish company based in London also supplies the Bahraini market.
["GET
