During the period, exports totalled US$ 4.099 billion and imports reached US$ 3.672 billion, according to data disclosed by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade this Monday (16th).<\/p>\n<p> In the first two weeks of the month, exports totalled US$ 8.517 billion and imports, US$ 7.147 billion, resulting in a US$ 1.370 billion surplus.<\/p>\n<p> From January until the second week of August, the surplus was US$ 10.603 billion, as against US$ 18.433 billion in the same period of 2009.
