The result recorded last month is 20.1% lower than in the same period of 2009 (US$ 3.054 billion).<\/p>\n<p> In August this year, exports totalled US$ 19.236 billion and imports, US$ 16.796 billion. In the last week of the month, exports totalled US$ 1.774 billion and imports, US$ 1.590 billion, resulting in a surplus of US$ 184 million.<\/p>\n<p> From January until August, the trade surplus was US$ 11.673 billion, 41.2% less than in the same period of 2009 (US$ 19.872 billion).
