Rio de Janeiro \u2013 Brazilian oil company Petrobras reported it set a new record in S-10 type ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) production in October this year. In the month, the state-owned company produced 2.38 billion liters. The previous record was in July this year, also around 2.38 billion liters.<\/p>\n
S-10 diesel has a maximum sulfur content of 10 parts per million (ppm), which, according to the company, causes less environmental impact.<\/p>\n
Two refineries also achieved record output in the month: Paul\u00ednia (Replan), in S\u00e3o Paulo, with 645 million liters, and Duque de Caxias (Reduc), with 163 million liters.<\/p>\n
According to Petrobras, its refineries are operating with a high Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF), and the outstanding performance was due to \u201chigh reliability and optimized operation of refining assets, supported by robust technology solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPetrobras is committed to investing in refining to meet commercial commitments with reliability, operational availability, valuing people and profitability of units, always guaranteeing the safety of operations,\u201d said the company\u2019s Industrial Processes and Products director, William Fran\u00e7a, in a release by the oil company.<\/p>\n
