Cear\u00e1 governor Elmano de Freitas participated in the meeting. <em>Pictured, Forrest (L), Freitas (C), and Lula (R).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The project has the potential to produce 837 tonnes of <strong>green hydrogen<\/strong> a day, using 2,100 MW of renewable energy. According to information from the federal government, the initiative is estimated to create some 5,000 jobs in the construction stage.<\/p>\n<p>In October, the State Environmental Council (COEMA) of Cear\u00e1 approved the environmental impact assessment submitted by Fortescue to establish the green hydrogen plant and authorized the State Superintendency of the Environment of Cear\u00e1 to issue a preliminary license.
