This is our mission,\u201d says Andr\u00e9 Luiz Kasprovicz, International Business manager at <strong>De S\u00edrius<\/strong>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.desirius.com.br\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">company<\/a> that defines itself as having a \u201cgreen soul\u201d and aims to be a landmark in <strong>vegan cosmetics<\/strong> by 2025.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_344119\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-344119\" style=\"width: 282px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/de-sirius-9-scaled.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-344119\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/de-sirius-9-400x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"282\" height=\"423\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-344119\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fl\u00e1vio and Sabrina Rosa: A story of partnership<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The history of the brand started long before its founder imagine she would one day own a cosmetics company. If it wasn\u2019t for the hard work and the lack of magic, her life story could be the plot of a fairy tale \u2013 at 16, Sabrina <em>(pictured above)<\/em>, a low-income girl whose mother was sick, developed with the help of a pharmacist a product to restore hair health and vitality.<\/p>\n<p>But instead of offering it to friends and family, her strategy was to present the cream to hairdressers. If they liked the results, they could endorse a treatment to their clients. It worked, and for a while, the \u201cintense restorative cream,\u201d as the professionals called her formula, helped maintain her household\u2019s financial health.<\/p>\n<p>At biology school, she met Fl\u00e1vio Rosa. They married and had children, and it was all going well until the financial crisis in Brazil in 1999 changed her family life. When her husband lost his job, Sabrina Rosa rolled up her sleeves and went back to the labor market. She borrowed BRL 100 from her partner, invested in raw material and packaging, and in their kitchen, she took turns as a mother and a housewife during the day and a seller and manufacturer of the cream she had created when she was a teenager at night.<\/p>\n<p>At a family property, the couple established their first plant, 25 years ago in Porto Alegre. The industrial facility is now in Alvorada, in the metropolitan area of Rio Grande do Sul\u2019s capital city, in a wooded area with native forest and fruit trees, where 60 employees \u2013 of which 38 are women \u2013 work. \u201cBut including the brand\u2019s ambassadors and supports, we are over 150 workers around the world,\u201d says the manager.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_344122\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-344122\" style=\"width: 289px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/de-sirius-8-scaled.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-344122\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/de-sirius-8-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"289\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-344122\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Company makes a variety of cosmetics<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The business model chosen by Sabrina Rosa at the beginning of the enterprise continues to this day. \u201cWe\u2019re manufacturers of professional hair products. This means that we work directly with our final customers \u2013 beauty salon workers,\u201d says the manager. According to the company, this market has very particular needs, \u201cso we provide constant attention, investing in training and customer service.\u201d De S\u00edrus products are found in specialty distributor in Brazil and elsewhere. \u201cWe want to be present in the daily life of hairdressers, as closely as possible,\u201d says Kasprovicz.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_344125\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-344125\" style=\"width: 289px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/de-sirius-2-600x337.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-344125\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/de-sirius-2-600x337.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"289\" height=\"162\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-344125\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The plant in South Brazil uses solar panels<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The company provides over 200 products, of which 144 are free from animal-sourced ingredients. \u201cWe never test our products in animals. From the active ingredients to more common raw materials, we want them to be non-animal sourced. We make products without petrolatum, parabens, or salt, Kasprovicz says. He explains that the company\u2019s CEO Sabrina Rosa has this as a life philosophy, regardless of the market movements. \u201cSo it\u2019s natural for her to keep this essence when creating a new recipe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>For gaining market share, the company participates is present in major domestic and international beauty trade shows, like Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna in Italy, and Beautyworld Middle East in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The results from this internationalization strategy first came in 2012, with the company\u2019s first export to the United States.
