S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Registration of new vehicles increased by 9.45% in Brazil from January to September this year compared with the same period last year, according to data disclosed last week by the National Motor Vehicle Dealership Association (Fenabrave). <\/p>\n
A total of 3,888,926 units were sold, as against 3,553,076 in the first nine months of last year. The figure includes automobiles, light commercial vehicles, lorries, buses, motorcycles, implements and others, such as jet sky trailers. It was the best accumulated result ever. "The result shows that the economy has bounced back," said the president of Fenabrave, S\u00e9rgio Reze, in a press release.<\/p>\n
In September alone, 478,323 units were sold. There was a decline of 0.85% over the previous month, August. According to the Fenabrave, the reduction was prompted by the smaller number of working days in September than in August.<\/p>\n
This year, Fenabrave expects 5.1 million vehicles to be licensed in Brazil, with growth of 8.05%. The previous estimate, disclosed in June, forecasted an increase of 7.82% in sales. Registering of automobiles and light commercial vehicles should reach 3.2 units, representing growth of 6.4%.<\/p>\n
