Rio de Janeiro \u2013 Oil production at domestic oilfields by the Brazilian state-owned oil company Petrobras should be 2% to 3% lower than forecasted this year. Previously, the enterprise had estimated an average production of 2.1 million barrels per day in 2010. "Whenever we are dealing with the oil industry, we are dealing with well drilling, rig construction, environmental issues. Considering the variety of activities, an error margin of 2% to 3% is very good, in an industry that deals with so much uncertainty. Thus, we believe that 2010 is being a great year, production-wise," said the executive manager of Production for South-Southeast Brazil, Jos\u00e9 Ant\u00f4nio Figueiredo.<\/p>\n
This Wednesday (6th), Petrobras presented its P-57 rig, which will be baptized this Thursday (7th) at the Brasfels shipyard, in Angra dos Reis (in the state of Rio de Janeiro) by the Brazilian president Luiz In\u00e1cio Lula da Silva. The rig, which has a production capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil, is going to operate at the Jubarte Field, in the Campos Basin, off the coast of the state of Esp\u00edrito Santo.<\/p>\n
