So says Rogério Valle, a professor holding a master’s degree in production engineering with an emphasis on environmental logistics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

According to him, the Bric countries will be of key importance to the world economy in coming decades and based on the current requirements for being internationally competitive, sustainability is the main point in which Brazil may aspire to be more efficient than the rest.

"Sustainability is turning into an increasingly decisive factor in international trade. Brazil is surely better positioned than the rest. Although the country cannot compete with India and China in terms of productivity in household appliances, software and medical services, we can have an industry characterized by sustainable development," he said.

According to the professor, a lecturer at the Carbon Neutral, Headed for the Cup and the Olympics meeting, the notion of sustainability may be defined by the recent perception that both the social and the environmental problem need to be tackled simultaneously. He underscored that in order to survive on the market, companies need to pay increasing attention to environmental and social issues.

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

Being sustainable should be a priority for the country to stand out among Bric’s, said environmental logistics specialist Rogério Valle at meeting Carbon Neutral, Headed for the Cup and the Olympics.

[103

0":"post-36159","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-sustainability
Being sustainable should be a priority for the country to stand out among Bric's, said environmental logistics specialist Rogério Valle at meeting Carbon Neutral, Headed for the Cup and the Olympics.
["GET
