Nominal revenues grew 0.9%. In August, the growth had been 1.9%, both in sales volume and in revenues. The figures are in the Monthly Trade Research, disclosed today (12) by the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics (IBGE).<\/p>\n<p> Despite the positive result for September, only four of the ten activities researched presented growth in sales volume: office, information and communications equipment (5.6%), other articles for personal and domestic use (2.8%), furniture and household appliances (1.1%) and fuel and lubricants (1.0%).<\/p>\n<p> The sectors that presented reductions in the volume of sales were hypermarkets, supermarkets, drinks and tobacco (-0.1%), fabric, garments and shoes (-0.2%), building material (-0.2%), books, newspaper, magazines and stationery (-0.7%), cars, motorcycles and parts (-0.8%) and medical, orthopaedics, perfumery and cosmetic products and pharmaceuticals (-1.2%).<\/p>\n<p> When comparing September this year to September 2009, the growth was 11.8% in sales volume and 15.2% in nominal revenues. In the accumulated result for the year, the growth was respectively 11.4% and 14.4%.
