The increased output is expected to occur despite a smaller sugarcane production this year as market conditions are favorable for this growth. India, the world\u2019s second largest producer after Brazil, has faced production problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brazilian sugarcane crop in 2024\/25 is expected to add up to 685.86 million tonnes, down 3.8% from the previous crop. Reasons are low rainfall and high temperatures in Brazil\u2019s Centro-Sul, where most producing regions are concentrated. This is expected to take place amidst an increase in total planted area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A major part of sugarcane production in Brazil is used to produce ethanol.
